Equine Assited Learning

Meeting Learning and Social Development Goals Using Horses

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning process that involves interactions between participants and horses. Unlike traditional therapy, EAL focuses on personal development and skill-building rather than psychological treatment. The relationship with horses serves as a catalyst for participants to explore social skills, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

In EAL, participants engage in various activities with horses guided by a facilitator (Ms. Gabby). These activities can include grooming, leading, play based activities, and groundwork exercises that encourage individuals to reflect on their behaviors, emotions, and interactions. The non-judgmental nature of horses can help individuals feel more at ease, allowing them to express themselves more freely.

Another one of the key aspects of EAL is its emphasis on observation and reflection. Participants learn to interpret horse behavior, which often mirrors their own internal states and interpersonal dynamics. This reflective process can foster greater self-awareness and promote personal growth. Each session is tailored to the specific needs and goals of the participants, creating a unique and valuable learning experience.

This program is for those needing help with enhancing communication skills, developing emotional regulation, learning goals, and their overall well-being.
